Vilassar de Mar is one of the towns with the greatest seafaring tradition in El Maresme, with a flat landscape, full of flower plantations by the sea, which preserves an extensive “Indian” architectural heritage, i.e. the mixture of local modernist architecture with the new tastes for the colonial style of those returning from “making the Americas” in the 19th century.
